This series combines several of our favourite different styles of restorative yoga & gentle yoga. Some of our favourites to note being Restorative Aerial Yoga, Half Gentle/Half Restorative Yoga, Gentle Yoga into Restorative Yoga Nidra and more!

We are so excited to offer this array of different experiences that will infuse the nervous system with a sense of peace, calm and wellbeing. Restorative yoga is a style of yoga where we will utilize all of our props (bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets and eye pillows) to create a beautiful effortless style of practice. This slower paced in nature creates space for attuning to your body’s inner wisdom, promoting relaxation and inner balance.

Restorative Aerial Yoga Sarovara Yoga Bobcaygeon

Restorative Aerial Yoga

Restorative Aerial Yoga is a deeply healing, low to the ground, suspension practice in an aerial hammock. With the intention to restore and relax your nervous system, experience a deep pelvic release, decompression of the spine and lower back relief. Ally guides a meditative state as you relax into the support of the silks and sooth the entire nervous system. This class is super relaxing and perfect for beginners to aerial yoga. We will explore fundamentals including zero compression inversions while still feeling the support of the ground.

Restorative Yoga

A restorative yoga sequence involves only 5-8 poses that are experienced for 5-10 minutes each, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. With as little effort as possible, the bolsters, blocks, blankets, and pillows (in this case, the aerial hammock) support you in light twists, seated forward folds, gentle backbends and more.

Ally and Laura guide you into  a meditative/yoga nidra state as you relax into the support of the props and sooth the entire nervous system.

Gentle Yoga

The gentle and slower paced nature of gentle yoga creates space for attuning to your body’s inner wisdom, promoting relaxation and inner balance. Through, meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques) and postures you will be encouraged to become aware to your inner physical, mental, emotional, and energetic states. The heart of the class is a sequence of postures linked fluidly together that connects your movement with the pace of your breath. Whether you are looking to de-stress, stretch, move your muscles, cultivate inner resilience, or integrate meditation – this class will leave you feeling wonderful.

I'm Ally, the founder of Sarovara Yoga, a yoga educator and meditation teacher with a passion for yoga nidra and the healing power of conscious rest. My life's path has been one of healing from anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia through the science of yoga, particularly yoga nidra and lifestyle practices such as Ayurveda & chemical-free, natural living.  My life's work is to help people to connect to, restore and renew all levels of their being. My aim is to help people to calm, balance and restore their nervous systems. I teach tools for reversing exhaustion, stress and overwhelm and help people reconnect to their sensitive biorhythms and the natural world. I'm dedicated to inspiring depth, creativity, and joy by sharing the most potent tools from a variety of yogic traditions. I aim to bring an openhearted, inclusive view to my classes, which are a rich blend of Kripalu Yoga along with Classical Hatha Tantra, Yoga Psychology, Yoga Nidra, Integrative Restoration, Amrita Living Yoga & Energy Medicine.

Meet Your Teacher

Hi! I'm Laura and I am a recent graduate of Amrita living yoga and I'm excited to start offering classes! Yoga has been an important and grounding part of my life for many years now and taking my YTT with Ally was a dream come true. By day I am a Public Health Nurse in Sexual Health but my hobby and passion is Yoga! I have a love for many different types of yoga but my current focus is to lead gentle and meditative practises!

I am so thankful for this opportunity to teach at Sarovara Yoga as Ally has been my mentor and favourite teacher for many years now!
