Gentle Yoga with Lisa Diem- Sarovara Yoga Bobcaygeon

Mondays 9:30am - 10:45am

The first half of the class will create some heat, get the body warm, create strength in the muscles and cardiovascular system. The second half will be gentle and slower paced in nature creating space for attuning to your body’s inner wisdom, promoting relaxation and inner balance.

Lisa's gentle yoga class is incredibly soothing. Practice mindful movement in the warmth of the sun overlooking the secluded, wildlife filled bay on Pigeon Lake. Lisa takes wonderful care of her students with loving reiki touch and gentle guidance through the postures. She has a wonderful way of guiding that is accessible to all body types, ages and abilities.

Lisa has a warmth about her that is so comforting and welcoming. She loves yoga and her passion and enthusiasm shines through in each class that she leads. This class is conveniently located just beside the Forbert Pool and is at the perfect time of day for retired yoga/movement enthusiasts!

This class will be lead by Lisa Diem of Fenelon Yoga. Beginners take comfort in her classes as she provides a very welcoming, warm and loving environment to begin a new journey. In each class she combines classic yoga postures in a thoughtful but light-hearted way, based on what you need. Her love of yoga, life and fun nature energy shines through in each of her classes.

The gentle and slower paced nature of this class creates space for attuning to your body’s inner wisdom, promoting relaxation and inner balance. Through, meditation, pranayama, asana, and mudra, you will be encouraged to enhance the awareness of your physical, mental, emotional, and energetic states. Whether you are looking to de-stress, stretch, move your muscles, learn calming breathing techniques, cultivate inner resilience, or integrate meditation – this class is for you.The class will begin with meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) that will encourage you into the present moment while calming your nervous system. A series of warm up movements (pratapana) will promote circulation and synovial fluid in the joints, aid detoxification and nutrient dispersion in the tissues, and prepare the body for yoga postures. The heart of the class is a sequence of postures linked fluidly together that connects your movement with the pace of your breath.

You will stretch, lengthen, and balance in a way that encourages mind/body connection and listening to your body’s intuition.  Lisa will guide you to flow gently and creatively through postures, leaving you feeling nourished. Listening to your body and practicing self-care is always encouraged; if certain postures and movements do not work in your body, consider this an opportunity to explore something different! Awareness of sensation, the 5 senses, breath, and connection to nature is woven throughout the practice. Each class ends with deep relaxation, meditation and a relaxation gentle hands on/energetic assist. (Optional)

Note: This style of class is very accessible to all different ages and body types. If you are interested in trying yoga but think your mobility is too limited; this may just be the perfect class for you!
