The gentle and slower paced nature of this class creates space for attuning to your body’s inner wisdom, promoting relaxation and inner balance. Through, meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques) and postures you will be encouraged to become aware to your inner physical, mental, emotional, and energetic states. The heart of the class is a sequence of postures linked fluidly together that connects your movement with the pace of your breath. Whether you are looking to de-stress, stretch, move your muscles, cultivate inner resilience, or integrate meditation – this class is for you.

More About Gentle Kripalu Yoga

Ally is currently bringing her morning classes back to the studio as little Audrey makes her way to kindergarten this fall!

Ally will be leading this class as a beginner friendly experience. This gentle exploration of kripalu yoga (a form of hatha yoga) is the perfect style of class to promote relaxation and inner balance. Whether you are looking for a way to de-stress your life,  stretch and move your muscles, learn calming breathing techniques, cultivate inner resilience or try some beginner’s guided meditations - this class is for you!  Classes begin with an centering meditation and pranayama (breathing technique) to calm the nervous system and prepare you to really BE in the moment as you move from posture to posture. Warm up movements (pratapana) promote circulation and synovial fluid in the joints, aid detoxification and nutrient dispersion in the tissues and prepare the entire body for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, lengthen, and balance your body leaving you nourished and well rested. Listening to your own body’s wisdom and practicing self-care is always encouraged, if certain postures and movements do not work in your body, consider this an opportunity to explore something different! Awareness to sensations, the 5 senses, the breath and our connection to nature is woven throughout the practice. Each class ends with deep relaxation, meditation and a relaxation gentle hands on/energetic assist. (Optional)

Note: This style of class is very accessible to all different ages and body types. If you are interested in trying yoga but think your mobility is too limited; this may just be the perfect class for you!
