Beginner/Gentle Hatha Yoga is making it's way back into the studio this fall. This class is the perfect style of experience to promote relaxation and inner balance. Whether you are looking for a way to de-stress your life, stretch and move your muscles, learn calming breathing techniques, cultivate inner resilience or try some beginner’s guided meditations - this class is for you! Classes begin with an centring meditation and pranayama (breathing technique) to calm the nervous system and prepare you to really BE in the moment as you move from posture to posture. Warm up movements (pratapana) promote circulation and synovial fluid in the joints, aid detoxification and nutrient dispersion in the tissues and prepare the entire body for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, lengthen, and balance your body leaving you nourished and well rested. Listening to your own body’s wisdom and practicing self-care is always encouraged, if certain postures and movements do not work in your body, consider this an opportunity to explore something different! Awareness to sensations, the 5 senses, the breath and our connection to nature is woven throughout the practice. Each class ends with deep relaxation, meditation and a relaxation gentle hands on/energetic assist. (Optional)
Note: This style of class is very accessible to all different ages and body types. If you are interested in trying yoga but think your mobility is too limited; this may just be the perfect class for you!
